Life-Changing Results

3 Benefits of Implants Over Other Dental Treatments
Long-Lasting Support
With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. Because the titanium in the implants is biocompatible, it can fuse with your bone tissue. As a result, implants create a stable, secure foundation for the long-lasting success of your restored smile.
Protection against Bone Recession
Implants can help maintain the integrity of your jawbone and facial features. Unlike traditional dentures or other forms of tooth replacement, dental implants can prevent the jawbone deterioration that usually accompanies the longterm absence of tooth roots.

What Are Dental Implants?

"I Can Look in the Mirror and Smile"
The Hidden Cost of Missing Teeth
When just a single tooth is lost, the bone in the socket erodes and nearby teeth may slip into the gap, creating problems in your bite and creating uneven wear on teeth.
If many teeth are missing, your entire jawbone begins to recede and more teeth may be lost. At that point, you will be faced with more extensive dental work.
As you lose teeth and your jawbone shrinks, the skin on your face starts to sag and your facial features appear sunken. You may start to look older than you actually are.
Are You Worried About Discomfort During Surgery?
Providing compassionate, comprehensive care to patients is our number one priority. Our methods employ the latest in modern dentistry and local anesthesia to make treatment comfortable. With the nerves in the treatment area numbed, you can expect not to feel any pain during the procedure.
For those who desire a deeper level of relaxation, Michael Bixby Center for Advanced Dentistry offers nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation options. In addition, all of the oral surgeons we partner with provide effective anesthesia to make your surgery as free from discomfort as possible.
Dental Implant Restoration Options
Single Tooth Replacement
We can replace a single missing tooth with one implant restored with a crown.
Multiple Tooth Replacement
Patients missing two or more consecutive teeth can benefit from a dental bridge secured with one or more implants.
Full Arch Replacement
Patients missing all teeth in the top, bottom, or both dental arches can benefit from implant-supported dentures. Patients can speak, smile, and chew knowing that their dentures will remain securely in place.
A Closer Look At Implant-Supported Dentures

People with traditional dentures are well aware of their limitations and how they can embarrassingly slip around inside your mouth. What you may not know is that these traditional dentures can actually accelerate the erosion of the jaw.
In contrast, an implant-supported denture can help stop the loss of bone while also giving you peace of mind knowing that they won't slip out-of-place at the wrong moment.
Implant-supported dentures are also prized because they allow you to chew naturally and they dramatically increase the strength of your bite. People switching from full upper dentures that cover the palate and dull the senses will rediscover the range of flavors that they have been missing in food.

Dental Implants FAQ
How do I care for my implants?
Once your crown, bridge, or denture is secured, you can care for implants just like your natural teeth by brushing and flossing regularly. It will be especially important to keep your regular checkups with Dr. Bixby so he can make sure the implants stay healthy and secure.
What kind of implants does Dr. Bixby use?
We have worked with most implant manufacturers, but we most commonly work with the Astra and Ankylos implant systems.
Do my natural teeth need to be altered?
Usually, teeth surrounding the location of the missing tooth do not need to be altered. This is an advantage of implant dentistry over traditional restoration methods.
